Welcome to the Reading Centre of the National Trust

The Reading Centre is one of around 250 local groups that support the work of the National Trust and have an enjoyable time with like-minded people while so doing.

The Reading Centre is very active, organising a varied programme of visits, talks and holidays, some of which will include visits to National Trust properties, but many will not. They are all organised by volunteers, and all have the ethos of the National Trust at their heart. Through these activities, funds are raised which are donated to National Trust properties.

If you are already a member of the Centre you can check out this
season’s activities below. If you are not a member, we would like to welcome you into our friendly and active group!

Choose your events

Our Day Visits and Events are announced in the Summer and Winter newsletters, each having a six month programme. We accept both online and postal trip applications before the season’s specified closing date.

3

Event allocation

Once the application closing date has passed, our volunteer team allocate places to members using a fair system. Members then receive notification of their allocated trips (and wait list places, if applicable)

Place allocations – how does it work?

With the exception of Talks, places at our events are allocated according to a tried and trusted scheme, to make it fair for everyone.
